Inver Grove Heights SuperTarget back on

by Jim Brubaker
Minnesota

After months of delay because of the economy, construction of the Inver Grove Heights, Minn., SuperTarget north of Highway 55 is set to begin.

After two years of planning the project was put on hold last fall. Construction had begun in November with footings being built but, after a week, the project was suspended.

An opening date for the SuperTarget is set for October 2010.

The Super Target's square footage has been reduced from 176,000 square feet to a proposed 135,000 square feet, which was approved on May 11 by the city council. The change in size allows retail businesses on the site should Target opt to sell the additional space.
